  3. No, in the modern era North played Collingwood around 1985 in the first H&A game under lights.

    Prior to that Waverley had night matches mid week (this was what is now the pre season comp).

  4. i wasn't alive 100 years ago but nth melb v brisbane started it all in 1987 at the mcg on a Friday night first game under the current lights

  5. 1879 technically. It was actually a VFA match I beleive as the AFL had not yet been invented. It was also the same year that the first games were played at the MCG.

    But the first night game of Aussie Rules Football was in 1879.
