  1. hello

  2. No one person actually invented satellite communications.
In 1946 engineers at Ft. Monmouth NJ proved that communication via a satellite was possible by using a radar set to bounce a signal off of the earth’s moon.  The signal was received in California.  The purpose of this experiment was to determine whether radio signals could actually penetrate the earth’s atmosphere.  Remember, no one had ever done this before so this was an important experiment.  You could say that the earth’s moon was the very first communications satellite.
In 1960 scientists at the Bell Telephone laboratories in Holmdel NJ launched the Echo 1 satellite.  Echo was a 100 foot diameter balloon with a thin coating of aluminum to reflect radio waves.  The experiment was a success and signals were sent form Main to California.
Echo was a passive reflector satellite and was capable of very limited communications.  In 1962 scientists at the Bell Telephone laboratories launched Telstar One into low earth orbit.  Telstar was the first active communications satellite and was a huge success.
It was in 1963 that NASA launched the Hughes built Syncom 1, the first geosynchronous communications satellite.
Perhaps the one person that we could say actually “invented” satellite communications was Arthur C. Clark.  In 1945 Clark published an article in Wireless World that proposed a system of orbiting relay stations, in geosynchronous orbit, to provide global communications.  You can read the article here:

Clark has always been reluctant to take credit as the inventor of satellite communications.  He preferred to be called the godfather of satellite communications.

  3. The first data communications satellite for the West of the world was invented around 1979 but was launched in the early eighties. It was for low speed communications relating to television transmits and later the Sky tv satellites were launched around 1987. Almost all satellites have at least basic communicating capability as the control centres on earth need to monitor or control them

  4. who invented communicatins satellite
