When was the last time Tampa,Fl was directly hit by a hurricane? What was the hurricanes name?

I lived in Tampa when I was a little girl. I dont ever remember a hurricane hitting! They seem to say that hurricanes are always heading toward Tampa...yet the hurricanes always seem to change course at the end. Is this my imagination?

The last direct hit was October 1921 before they started naming hurricanes. Tampa does get the outskirts, but it hasn't been hit head on since then!

Where did Andrew hit in the early 90's?  I was on vacation in Naples/Sarasota and it hit Florida a few days after we left.  Not sure exactly where though.  But that area is a few hours south of Tampa.
