  1. Annabel Croft 1984.  Laura Robson's actually an Aussie by birth, so it's a case of the cricket route again - sigh!  Fred Perry was the last man to win, way back in the 1930s!!!

  2. Virginia Wade in 1977.

I didnt know she was English, I thought she was Australian. But alas, no; its just her funny voice.

  3. the commentator said but I can't remember......I think it may have been in the 1980s if I remember correctly but don't take my word for it

and yeah I really hope Laura wins tomorrow....I saw her interview after she won it was so funny, she said she was hoping she may persuade Safin to accompany her to the Champions ball lol....she seems really funny and down to earth

  4. No idea, but I thought Laura Robson was great this afternoon and a funny interview, real star in the making.

  5. Virginia Wade in 1977.

I think John Lloyd and Wendy Turnbull won the mixed doubles in 1983/84

  6. It was Laura Robson

    yesterday!!!

    lol

  7. I have no idea, but i hope Laura wins also, she has a likeable spirit.

  8. Not sure about Juniors.

But the last British man to win Wimbledon was Fred Perry in 1936 and the last British woman to do it was Virginia Wade in 1977.

  9. Laura is beautiful, yet shes so young, at 14, shes real talent, the thing is, i don't know if this is true, but what i have seen from british sportsmen and woman, hey are really good, but they let themselves down..and the reason because of this is...EGO!, They need to respect others, and be honest with themselves, but have that desire, and know they can beat anyone, they are good,

Luara can do it, shes good, shes humble, she can do it!

  10. dunno

  11. 1977 Virginia Wade won Ladies Singles in the Queen's Silver Jubilee Year - she also won many other tournaments - see http://www.itftennis.com/womens/players/...

Roger Taylor got through to the Semi Finals in 1967 and 1973.  He also reached the Semi finals of the Australian in 1970 and the Quarter Finals in Paris in 1973 and US in 1964.
