  3. Virginia Wade comes to mind. There haven't really been too many top British women since then. And there have been lots of Americans. So it's unlikely that this would have happened in the last 30 years.

  4. Sue Barker and Virginia Wade in 1977.

    Sue Barker tied with Chris Evert that year reaching the semis.  Stove knocked out Barker and Wade knocked out Evert.  Wade beat Stove to win the championships.

    Jo Durie was a quarter finalist in 1984.
