  1. hmmmm...not too sure...but no...the angels cant do it...tahts waay too hard to do...mmmmm...maybe close? but no

  2. giants

    and indians

    cubbies this year with angels

  3. I am not sure if it's ever been done before (at least live ball era anyways) because most teams don't have 5 legitimate starters.

The 1993 Braves came close. They had 4 with the Big 3 plus Steve Avery who got 18.

As for the Angels, I don't see it. Not because they can't but this division has essentially already been won and once the Angels clinch the spot they want in the playoffs (or even before), I think Scocia will begin to rest his big arms and just bring up some minor leaguers to give them some experience.

  4. I believe there are only 9 teams to have five pitchers, each with at least 15 wins in a season. Those were the 1902 Pittsburgh Pirates, 1904 Chicago Cubs, 1905 New York Giants, 1908 Pittsburgh Pirates, 1915 Boston Red Sox, 1923 New York Yankees, 1925 Pittsburgh Pirates, 1930 Washington Senators and the 1998 Atlanta Braves.

    1902 Pirates -

    Jack Chesbro (28-6, 2.17 ERA)

    Jesse Tannehill (20-6, 1.95 ERA)

    Deacon Phillippe (20-9, 2.05 ERA)

    Ed Doheny (16-4, 2.53 ERA)

    Sam Leever (15-7, 2.39 ERA)

    1904 Cubs-

    Jake Weimer (20-14, 1.91 ERA)

    Buttons Briggs (19-11, 2.05 ERA)

    Carl Lundgren (17-9, 2.60 ERA)

    Bob Wicker (17-9, 2.67 ERA)

    Mordecai Brown (15-10, 1.86 ERA)

    1905 Giants -

    Christy Mathewson (31-9, 1.28 ERA)

    Red Ames (22-8, 2.74 ERA)

    Joe McGinnity (21-15, 2.87 ERA)

    Dummy Taylor (16-9, 2.66 ERA)

    Hooks Wiltse (15-6, 2.47 ERA)

    1908 Pirates -

    Nick Maddox (23-8, 2.28 ERA)

    Vic Willis (23-11, 2.07 ERA)

    Howie Camnitz (16-9, 1.56 ERA)

    Sam Leever (15-7, 2.10 ERA)

    Lefty Leifield (15-14, 2.10 ERA)

    1915 Red Sox -

    Ernie Shore (19-8, 1.64 ERA)

    Rube Foster (19-8, 2.11 ERA)

    Babe Ruth (18-8, 2.44 ERA)

    Joe Wood (15-5, 1.49 ERA)

    Dutch Leonard (15-7, 2.36 ERA)

    1923 Yankees -

    Sam Jones (21-8, 3.63 ERA)

    Herb Pennock (19-6, 3.13 ERA)

    Joe Bush (19-15, 3.43 ERA)

    Waite Hoyt (17-9, 3.02 ERA)

    Bob Shawkey (16-11, 3.51 ERA)

    1925 Pirates -

    Lee Meadows (19-10, 3.67 ERA)

    Ray Kremer (17-8, 3.69 ERA)

    Emil Yde (17-9, 4.13 ERA)

    Johnny Morrison (17-14, 3.88 ERA)

    Vic Aldridge (15-7, 3.63 ERA)

    1930 Senators -

    Lloyd Brown (16-12, 4.25 ERA)

    Firpo Marberry (15-5, 4.09 ERA)

    Sam Jones (15-7, 4.07 ERA)

    Alvin Crowder (15-9, 3.60 ERA)

    Bump Hadley (15-11, 3.73 ERA)

    1998 Braves -

    Tom Glavine (20-6, 2.47 ERA)

    Greg Maddux (18-9, 2.22 ERA)

    John Smoltz (17-3, 2.90 ERA)

    Kevin Millwood (17-8, 4.08 ERA)

    Denny Neagle (16-11, 3.55 ERA)

As for if the Angels can join the list this year, quite possibly. Do I think they will? No. Would I like to see it? Yes. It's pretty rare and put them into select company. As you can see, the 1998 Braves are the only team to do so in the past 77 years.

  5. i dont know the year but i think the angels can do it.

    (entering august 9th)

    1.Lackey 9-2

    2.Weaver 10-9

    3.Garland 10-6

    4.Saunders 14-5

    5.Santana 13-5

they should each get at least 8 or 9 more starts

  6. idk.

but no they cant do it

  7. thats a tough one since WE(: have saunders && santana who have been racking up the wins this season && are both very close...then again ever since lackey came off of the DL at the start of the season he's been struggling a bit - but i would sayy there is a chance...youu can never underestimate the comeback kids.

  8. Don't know but i do know that the Angels can do it because i think they have the first or second best record in MLB. John Lackey and Jon Garland are starting pitchers who can lead this team to the playoffs and may be the World Series. Francisco Rodriguez ( K-Rod ) can help produce wins by closing out the game. Everyone on yahoo thinks that the cubs are the best team ever well that's not true.
