  1. David Gilliland won at Kentucky in the Busch Series in 2006. I also remember Tony Raines ran really good in 2003 in the 74 but did not win.

  2. Now that bigguy rattled my brain I remember that Daytona race with Greg Sacks.. But more recently Gilliland won a busch race in 2006.. I thought Kvapil was suppose to be in the #28 Lafayette Ford sponsorship in Darlington this weekend, that was Fearless Freddie Lorenzen's old sponsor that was one cool ride back in the 60's, yep this Chevy fan was a Ford fan back then.

    Go Dale Jr & Hms

  3. David Gilliland in the Nationwide Series in 2006 was the last in NASCAR to win driving an unsponsored car.

That win got him the call to the #38 was M&Ms car to replace the departing Elliott Sadler where he remains today.

  4. Back in the 80's  the  July Daytona 400,Greg Sacks unsponsored and under funded DiGard racing.

  5. Gilliland is the last I can remember in a Nationwide race.

  6. a driver you probably don't remember greg sacks won the 1985 july 400 mile cup race in daytona, it was for the old digard team  and was a plain white unsponsored chevy. most thought it was an r&d car, which is racin talk for illegal but you can't prove it. all i know is that car would haul ***.

  7. Nice Bigguy!  Thats a piece of history right there!

  8. David Gilliand won a Busch Race (Now Nationwide) with an unsponsered car. He now seems to be improving driving for Yates.
