  1. That's never happened.  I don't know how you think gravity works, but it wouldn't cause the Moon to hit the Earth and then go back into orbit.  The Moon probably formed when the Earth was hit by a large asteroid early in it's formation, and formed from the debris - it hasn't been that close since.

  2. The Moon didn't hit the Earth in 1947 and has never to my knowledge.

The Moon will probably never get closer to the earth - the earths gravity is in control of moons orbit - but it will get farther from the Earth.

Even if something like an aestroid or comet hit the Moon it would most likely not hit the eath.

  3. in 1947 the moon collided with the earth

  4. Since it's formation the Moon has never made contact with Earth.  The Earth is moving away from the Earth at a rate of 3 cm. per year.

  5. scholars believe that gravity did cause the moon to hit the earth, that is the way they believe the moon was created, they have it times to a few billion years ago, a planet that could have been in our solar system supposedly collided with earth, left a big chunk of mass here, and slowly, like she said 3.5cm every year it moves away from us, and it has taken a few billion years for it to get where it has, away from us.

they say the planet is 5 billion years old, and at 2 billion years old the earth was all molten rock/metal and the earth was made slightly larger by this collision.

  6. ever since the moon formed, the moon has never collided with earth. it moves away from earth about 3.8 cm every year. the moon formed by colliding with earth and never escaping the gravitational pull of the earth. as it moves, it ill eventually escape and we will no longer have a moon.

  7. Since the time of its formation, the moon has never been in contact with the earth.  In fact, it has been moving slowly away from us.
