that you as a citizen went up to a member of the Armed Forces on the street or in an airport or train station and shook his hand and thanked him for what he does? When was the last time you said thanks to your grand father or great grand father for his service in WWII? Why haven't you done it more often?

  1. i was at a restaurant with my brother in law whos a marine when a round of beers were brought to our table, when we told the waiter we diddent order it he pointed to this elderly couple who came over and thanked him for his service and that he was a WW2 vet

more people should do what he did

  2. No one ever thanked me.  3rd CAV 11c.  And no one ever thanked my father for serving in Vietnam, 1st CAV, 9th Infantry, 3rd Armored Div, 11b.

  3. EVERY Time I see one in uniform

    Vet-USAF

  4. I say it often.  And as an active duty person in uniform often on city streets; I appreciate it, but it kinda freaks me out when people sort of walk over and lean into me to say thanks.  It always catches me a little of guard and I think they mean harm to me when they approach (I get a lot of trash from panhandlers).

  5. Every time I see one, I'm also planning on thanking my Friend's that are out there at the moment and buying them a pint or 2. I'm currently a recruit and I know I haven't done anything to be thanked for yet but all I seem to get is either "your brave" but mostly I get "no don't, you will die blah blah blah" I want to serve my Country and to help the men and women out there and also the Civvy's I encounter along the way.

  6. It happens more today than it ever did before 9-11-01. I retired from the Army in 93, And never once heard a thank you until after 9-11. People go out and thank a vet.

  7. I do when ever I see them.  Better then the welcome back we got from Vietnam and they deserve it.

  8. I do this every time I see a man or woman in uniform.  Can't do it more often than that.

  9. I thank my great grandfather and all the men in my family who have severed by doing my part and serving so that the freedoms they earned for me......can stay that way and be there for my son, and so on and so on....
