There's actually a lot more to it than most of us remember from our childhood. Kite flying seems like a wonderfully carbon-friendly activity that gets us outside, gives us a little exercise, camaraderie, and a chance to share an interest with others who enjoy the activity.

What other carbon-friendly activities do you pursue?

    my favourite low carbon activities;

    reading (0 to 20w, for light. as i keep my books, thats some carbon sequestered til my lucky neices have to clear out my effects)

    gardening (carbon positive except for digging, i dont do much of that)

    smoking (i reckon my reduced life expectancy cancels out the carbon cost of growing, drying, transport etc.)

    chopping wood (no, really, its great fun and good exercise)

  4. The last kite was when i was 11 years old on a cold windy snowy day with my mother and brother, it was a homemade one made from bamboo canes and coloured tissue paper and it flew better than the shop bought ones when we saw others who were flying there kites there's did not fly as high as ours.

  5. It's been a couple years, but it was fun.

  6. Oh Oh last Sunday :-)

    I saw one reduced at Tesco last week and snapped it up and took my grandson down the park Sunday afternoon.

    We had great fun  :-D  (well I did, my grandson was more interested in running around with my dog *rolls eyes* )

    Other carbon-friendly activities... errrmm.... I'm teaching him to play Jacks, and marbles if they count.
