Question:

When was the last time your horoscope made sense?

I read the paper on my home from work. I eventually get to the horoscope section and read it out of curiosity. It never makes any sense to me! It's always so ambiguous and random. Does anyone take horoscopes seriously? Got any examples of how they have directly affected your life?

  1. they have made sense for me a few times.. like yesterday, it said something like you will meet an old friend soon and a couple hours later a friend of mine from elementary school IMed me... it was strange. but it could have just been a coincidence...

  2. The ones in the paper are for all ppl of that sign, so it may not apply to you necessarily for that particular day, but if u keep reading them, eventaully it will be applicable to you..

But horoscopes make sense if u wanna know about ur personality, ur being, who u are and what ppl of u sign behave like.  They cant tell u ur future, u need other types of readings for that, but in general sense, they kinda reveal u to you...

  3. A long time ago.!!!

    Pure random.!!!

  4. Horoscopes are only fulfilled by people who believe that would happen.

    Example:

"Dear Virgo, you will be faced with a serious oppertunity. It would be wise to say no."

Right, so about a twelfth of the population is going to get this. "Serious oppertunity" varies from person to person. For some, it may be a new job. For others, it may be something different for tea.

    It makes NO sense.

  5. my daily horoscope is usually not true but if i read all about my sign, not just daily stuff but like EVERYTHING, it seems to be right.

  6. THE LAST TIME I LOOKED AT MY HOROSCOPE IT MADE SENCE AND INT WAS RIGHT. I DONT REMEMBER WHAT IT SAID BUT I REMEMBER BEING SHOCKED AT THE END OF THE DAY WHEN IT CAME TRUE!!!

  7. I never use them

  8. They usually always come true because they right things that are going to come true anyway it's like writing on Sunday "tomorrow is going to be Monday" in some fancy way. It is really dumb but smart how they write it.

  9. The whole concept doesn't make sense - how can one make predictions (not even taking the fact that its very unlikely that anyone is able to foresee the future) based on a subdivision of everyone (their characters, aims, life events etc) into just 12 categories? Yes we are all alike (and that's why we can relate to certain things that are mentioned in horoscopes - their ambiguity further enables us to reach our personal and varying conclusions based on subjective interpretations.) Any events foretold in a horoscope which may appear to 'come true' are nothing more than coincidence, the probability of  which is quite good actually, if you consider how many people read them and how we would obviously remember the one time that the horoscope was accurate rather than the 50 times it wasn't. In my opinion it is all nonsense, good for a laugh but nothing else...You ask how they have directly affected my life, well mainly through 'arguments' with friends who consider this pseudoscience to have some validity...

  10. Not so serious......its ok.Some times the forecast will b perfectly correct.Again this depends on Predictors.

  11. I like to read my horoscope forecast for fun....

  12. Well the usual horoscope in papers and magazines are placebo readings...  They're derived from the transits of a generic chart for each sign. And more often than not it's the most read version of the horoscope and isn't even remotely predictive. A proper forecast is usually very individual, because people have different birth times... even twins.

A chart is calculated from three particular details.

Your Birth date, Birth time, and the coordinates of your birth place (most systems these days have the coordinates preprogrammed in their atlas directory, so all you need to do is write your natal city.)

The readings below only show how they affect me and a friend, for example.

I do take astrology seriously, I'm an astrologer.

But as someone who read astrology, I'd say this, it's relative. People can decide for themselves if it applies for them or not.

The funniest example I can cite is that of one person I know who swears he's not a believer in astrology... when I did his chart, just to see what's there, it says that he has really strong potential for mysticism and astrology, but might not address the matter because there were other things in his chart that were more predominant towards scepticism.

Well it's his prerogative to not believe in it, as is anyone's.

I'm just saying don't discount it until you've really looked into it properly... and stay off placebo readings :-P

  13. It makes sense
