http://www.savethechildren.org/ Started in 1932 and they celebrated their 75th year in 2007.

Here is their website and you can find all the info under About us tab. Me personally, I do not help this organization. My reasons are that even though they have a group that helps those in the US, much of the money, food, supplies, and clothing ends up in the foreign supply donations. I know that sounds as though I am a terrible person, but when there are thousands of children/families struggling, living on the streets, in substandard living conditions, poor school districts without substancial funding, I can't understand why we would want to send stuff to other countries when our own people are suffering from traumatic events and economic ruin here. I feel sorry for those children in foreign countries that do not value children like we do but I have always lived by the rule "Teach by example". The parable of "Give a man a fish, feed him for the day, teach a man to fish, feed him for a life time."

Save the Children is a super international organisation  that is helping and saving children in need around the world. It was first established in the United Kingdom in 1919.

In the beginning of time, it's always taken a VILLAGE to raise a child. We've jus taken tha closeness of a village out of our community.
