  1. During the adverts of Coronation St

  2. it was invented by logie baird in glasgow in early 1900's

  3. There is not a simple answer.

The first television was achieved (privately) on Oct 2 1925 and publicly on Jan 26th 1926. However this electromechanical system based on spinning discs was developmentally a dead end, even though it did form the basis for the first broadcast system.

The first televesion that bore any resemblence to the modern system was demonstrated with a 2 dimensional image on 25th August 1934. The concept was much older and one dimensional images (single lines) had been demonstrated seven years earlier by the same team.

All this prompts the question "What is the moment of invention?" Is it the moment you have the idea of something to achieve, is it the moment when you have the outline of how to achieve it, is it the moment when you know the detail of how to achieve it, is it the moment when you first demonstrate it, or is it the date when it is first used. Complex inventions like televison take a long time to come to fruition.

Hope this helps and gives you plenty of scope to pad out your answer.
