Yup, it's intertia.........any object moving wants to keep moving in the same direction unless it's met with another "force".....so if your vehicle hits something, YOU keep moving forward just like anything else in your car which isn't tied down. Your body WANTS to keep moving forward. Your body didn't hit the object, your car did.

    So, your car is stopped suddenly but you get thrown forward.

    That is why there are seatbelts! The seatbelts prevent you from being THROWN forward out through the windshield.

  3. It's because of inertia. There's so many laws about it. I think it's the second law. Hope this helps. =)
