  1. Yes. You can connect the VCR to your DVT set top box via the scart or s-vhs connector. Use the Aux input channel on the VCR to record. You can still connect the VCR via the tv antenna socket for playback.

  2. Yes, no problem. A VCR is a machine & doesn't care what type of signal it is so long as it's video & audio so set your mind at rest because you are looking for problems that don't exist.

  3. If you're using a set-top box or Sky, yes you will provided it's connected between the box and TV, you will however only be able to record the channel you're watching if you haven't got a DTV, if you have, set the box to the programme you want to tape, and the TV to another channel as you would now when recording Sky.

  4. Yes you can. you just have to have it go through the set top box instead of your tv.

  5. I don't think so, as far as I know no VCR was designed to interpret digital signals. You'll obviously still be able to play videos etc, but no longer record tv.

If it makes you feel any better, if you don't have a digibox or digital tv when it all switches over, you don't have to pay for a tv license. So finally those of us who only use our tv for videos, dvds, games etc don't have to pay just cos we could receive a signal if we wanted to (it took me several attempts to pry that out of the licensing authority, but I have the email and am keeping it for the future).

  6. I think you will be able to watch videos but not record.
