When we microwave popcorn, the microwave shuts off after it's done, why?

I mean, the electricity actually goes off. After a while, it turns itself back on again. this happens only with popcorn microwavable bags. Any solutions? The apartment complex people didn't believe me about this, and they say it is a brand new microwave.

Maybe it is a safety feature, so the microwave will not overheat and explode, due to high temperatures. Also, try plugging it into another outlet, as maybe the outlet is to blame.
