  1. an intuitive explanation is that in multiplying a by x you ask how much is x times b, so 4*5 is 5 times 4.

in this view, anything multiplied by zero is "zero times something", and a zero of anything is always zero.

  2. 0= nothing

So, no matter how many times you multiply nothing, you will get Nothing! Surprise! ;-)

  3. Because there are zero times that many

    0 x 1 = there are zero times 1

    THERE IS NO ONE

  4. For example,

    3x0

Lets just say you have three bags of 0, so theres nothing there, making it equal 0

Its just one of those things :)

  5. Let's say you have no eggs.

    If I give you 2 eggs one time, you have 2 x 1 = 2 eggs.

    If I give you 2 eggs two times, you have 2 x 2 = 4 eggs.

If the number of times I give you 2 eggs is 0,

(i.e. I don't give you any eggs at all),

    you still won't have any eggs: 2 x 0 = 0.

And if I come over to your house and give you 0 eggs,

it won't matter how often I do that, you remain eggless.

    0 x n = 0 no matter what n is.

    .

  6. Thats the rule.. Cant be changed.
