  1. Maybe try covering the cage at night so its still dark in the morning and maybe she will sleep till you guy wake up. That way you can get her up in the morning. You are not doing anything wrong. Just maybe giving her alot of attention and she misses you in the morning they get very attached to there owners. There is nothing wrong with that if you have the time to give.

  2. my grey used to do it wen it was a baby...she is looking for attention...its like she is tryin to get out of her cage....our grey wouldnt stop untill we take her out....

  3. This is very normal behavior. She is still very much a baby. As a baby she spent a lot of time in the bottom of her cage.

As to watch she is doing scratching she could be looking for food as they often put millet and other foods on the bottom of the cage when she was there.

It really sounds as though nothing is wrong with her to me.

You could ask the store or breeder where she came from but really I often see one of my parrots go to the bottom of the cage and scratch around.

If your bird has other issues such as not eating or the droppings are very watery, etc. then you may have an issue.

Are you washing your hands carefully before handling her? Are you protecting her against harmful fumes?

I am sure you are; but, if you are unsure  you may want to check into this as they have a complicated respiratory system.

  4. it sounds like she maybe trying to nest, this is what my grey does when he comes into my bed! ha! ha! i know this sounds weird but he loves to snuggle up under the cover, covering the cage at night could stop her feeling vulnerable, and also u can get a grill at the bottom of her cage that separates her from all the f***s and dirty food, this is a good idea most cages already have a grill fitted this will certainly stop her from doing this :)

  5. It's normal for young birds to be at the bottom of their cage. The scratching her head could be any number of things.

Sharpening her beak (doubtful, they usually use anything near them, not one spot in particular)

Habit (never heard or seen a bird with a habit even close to this, but it's possible)

Stress (birds do any number of things when they're stressed. If she's hopping around with her mouth slightly open, and it's not hot where ever she is at the time, this is probably the problem)

    Etc.

Or it could be normal Grey behavior. I've seen full grown ones do the same thing.

    Good luck!

  6. its perfectly normal grey behavior. my grey still does it and he is 1 1/2 .everyone that has a grey has confirmed this to me too.

  7. i don't really know but have you talk to you vet or maybe you should get he a friend...

  8. it is very normal for a baby grey to do this even an older grey will do it from time to time my grey (bonzo) used to do it .

it there way of saying they wont to get out and untill they can tell you it will carry on .

now he just says GET OUT GET OUT but if we dont let him he will go to the bottom and dig so dont worry its fine and normal hope it has been of some help good luck there not an easy bird to care for
