When we r home we let our ferret just wonder around like a cat or dog. He goes back to his cage for food but

wont go back to use the bathroom. He just goes on the carpet. What should i do i need help.

put card board in the corners were he goes. my ferret like the corners the most. they never really get potty trained.... i don't think they care and i think their near sited... mine just backs in the corner can i help me with my question, my ferrets pooping black gushy stuff and he barely eats now. skin and bone.. thanx

Do you give him the entire home, or just one room? I would recommend giving him just one room to roam for now, until he can adjust to using his cage as a bathroom. Also, consider putting little ''litter boxes'' around the room with his bedding in them, so he has options other than the carpet & his cage to go potty in.

Put litter boxes in the corners, especially the one he uses the most. To help him along, put some of the soiled litter from his cage in each one. If he has any doubt, he will quickly discover what the new contraptions in the corners are used for and hopefully your carpets will be saved.
