When we run out of oil, how long will it take us to find an alternative fuel source?

Well, when we run out of oil, how long do you think it will take us to discover an alternative, economically reliable fuel source? When everything goes into turmoil, there will undoubtedly be thousands (and possibly even millions) of minds trying to figure out a new fuel source, and of course governments will probably be more willing to listen to people with alternative ways.

Let me known if you disagree with anything I've put forward, and what your thoughts are.

Thanks!

  1. I believe we have alternatives right now, they are just too expensive for the average person. I believe they will become economical before we run out of oil, but that may be overly optimistic.

  2. ok......11 months,14 days, 27 minutes and 31 seconds....now do you feel better? quit worrying pleeease!

  3. Honestly I hope we run out of the "black gold". It has been the biggest pain for humanity in contrast to it's good that it has done.

    1. Owned by a minority (actually mine it)

    2. People killed on regular basis over it

    3. Has far too much control over almost every aspect of life ie. food, trucking, goods, services, ect...

    4. Pollution of the earth to a great extent.

I hope we look at alternatives real hard and i truly do believe that Americans are still the number 1 inovators of the world and if we say enough is enough than you can believe change is on the way... let's hope it is soon!

  4. Think of Parliament Houses as big pig farms. The politicians are happy when they're fed and whoever feeds them the most they love the most. That love is reflected in loyalty. Oil companies are like big pig farmers, they feed the politicians (pigs) to use their rhetoric (pig sh_it_i.e. "we can't do anything about fuel costs") to grow big money trees that the farmers harvest. The public is the earth that they leach off and the pigs walk all over and Sh_it all over the earth. Politicians aren't public servants they are private servants of big multinational corporations and oil companies. They sit in their big pig pens and s_hit all day at Tax payers expense and get rich (fat) off corruption. They go on holidays (er conferences) and bulls_hit some more. They don't worry about fuel costs or the cost of living cause tax payers are footing the bill (after they retire as well). Some pigs are deformed and have two faces. Other pigs are amazing acrobats skilled at back flips and perform tricks to get votes. Alternate fuel sources will take away the pig feed so the pigs don't like to explore these avenues. We're living in turmoil now, thousands of people are being sucked dry by these parasites and their masters. There would be plenty of viable fuel sources that would cost a lot less than petroleum but there in lies the problem. Pigs are too greedy, they are too loyal to the farmers and don't give a rats *** about the earth. We're all being scammed!

  5. Bio oils are already being developed and in use in a small way.  Some vehicles are being run now on reclaimed frying oil, which is usually rape.

Maybe one day the whole World will be yellow with rape flowers!

  6. we are a long long ways from running out of oil. the remaining  oil just becomes more expensive to obtain, so prices will raise quickly at some point. we will still have plenty of time, decades and decades, before the point comes were it will truly change our life style if we have not switched to some sort of alternative. I feel that in 50 years we will have other options than oil, and until then everything will be fine.

  7. We have a lot of oil stashed away and theres quite a bit (more than anyone would tell you) left in the dirt. We are pretty far off from finding alternative sources.

Knowing this, another question comes up: what will we do when we find out theres no enough for everyone?

  8. I don't think it will take much time, since scientists are on the move right now too. I think, just about a year or so....really.....I mean, at least there will be one alternative, but yes, million minds will be fighting to create something new, because one alternative is not enough. And, defintely, government will listen to all the, what they very ruthlessly call right now, 'environment freaks'.
