  1. It depends if global warming exists.

And who sais we are going to run out of oil?

There is enough oil left on the planet... It just needs time to be found.

  2. there are other things that pollute like nukes coal burning wood all things pollute in some ways

  3. its like a drug addict asking himself "ok, how much damage is 1 more hit really gunna do?"

we will do quite a bit of damage searching for, extracting, and consuming the last of it.

we're like a pitiful despearate man who's about to hit rock bottom, but who needs to do it fast or he wont survive it, because it doesnt look like we are gunna be able to pull ourselves out the responsible way.

  4. the global warming problem has a lasting effect on earth. even though there might be no more oil, the previous effects of global warming still will take time to subside. so it will not stop the global warming effect immediately once we run out of oil.

another point to note is that oil is not our only source of energy. carbon is our source of energy. as long as there are carbon, people will still burn the carbon for energy and this will not help ease the global warming. carbon is found almost anywhere, especially in our food. if there are no carbon, no human can actually live.

  5. The effects from the CO2 we've already pumped into our atmosphere will continue for perhaps hundreds of years, even if the whole human population were to disappear off of the planet tomorrow.

Remember, cars aren't the only things that produce pollutes like Carbon Dioxide. Every time you use electricity, it is coming from a plant that most likely produces CO2 (unless you're on a wind/hydroelectricity/nuclear power plant grid). There's plenty of other things that produce CO2 and other greenhouse gases besides our cars.

Oil will run out eventually. We did a study in one of my geology classes and all came to a common date around year 2067, when it won't have run out, but it will have become SO expensive because the supply is dwindling that only the elite could afford it. We've reached a time when we need to look for alternative sources fo fuel...because oil is not a renewable resource.
