Question:

When we turn on our central A/C the fan comes on...

We have an older Ruud Central A/C unit. I have replaced the capacitor & it still does the same thing . Fan goes on , Compressor starts( the lights dim when it does) it runs for about 5-10 seconds & the compressor quits, Fan keeps going . Thank you in advance for any hints : )
