Even after less then 5 minutes of swimming/diving, the area around my eyes swell up and sometimes look like I have an black eye. What could cause this?

I have to wear goggles because I wear contacts and the clorine hurts my eyes.

  1. hi.

    im a swimmer myself.

i have lots of friends, non f them have this.

    1. You have an allergic reaction.

    2. buying some cheap  goggles, is not the smartest thing to do.

    3. buy competitive goggles from 'View'

    4. buy Speedo goggles without rubber (gasket). they cost about RM 59.90 at Royal Sports House or Why Pay More. They come in colorless & light purple. few years back they had black mirrored ones. (i have these). fit comfortable, ment for anyone.

have you tried wearing your goggles for 5 minutes or so when you are not in the pool??? have you tried that???

  2. maybe you push your googles to hard on your face or they are to tight on your face... you could try to untighten them.

  3. It's possible you are having an allergic reaction to the gasket material. If you think that might be it, you can try goggles that don't have gaskets, like these:

  4. The pressure from the gasket cuts off the circulation and there is more area outside of the socket than inside.  It goes away after a little while, doesn't it?
