Question:

When weather.com say t-storms tomorrow 10-11 AM and 40% precipitation. does that mean it will rain?

wondering. cuase I have to walk to my grandmothers and I don't want it to rain!!!

  1. It just means that they're expecting about 40% of the areas around you to get rain. So about 60% of those areas should remain dry.


  2. No way, especially if weather.com says it. The Weather Channel (which runs the site) is never right. I mean, really, here is an example: I went out to ride my bike today at about 11am. According to weather.com's hour-by-hour forecast, the wind was supposed to be from the west at 5 mph. When I went out, however, that wasn't the case, and when I came back, I checked weather.com again to see what it actually was, and it was blowing from the EAST at 12 mph-- the exact opposite direction and over twice as strongly. So don't trust weather.com; it's usually wrong.

  3. so really that means that theres a 4/10 chance of rain or 40/100chance of rain!!!!! so most likely its not going to rain

  4. That means there is a 40% chance it will rain and a 60% chance that it won't rain.
