When were glass marbles first introduced?

My 80 something neighbour lady gave me a bag of glass marbles she used as a child & said they were once her Mothers.Some are boulder size & most are regular size,but none of them are perfectly made.Sort of wobbly & showing the break off mark from the glass maker.

If they have the punty mark, they were hand made and may have some value to collectors depending on condition.  Machine made marbles making perfect spheres were introduced around 1900 - there is a machine for making them at WheatonArt glass museum

Glass marbles were first introduced in Germany in 1850 and to the US in 1890.
