I'm writing a book about a girl who wants to be a journalist in London around 1912, would this even be possible to accomplish?

  1. Elizabeth Jane Cochran already was working under the pen name Nellie Bly by 1880. Her journalistic accomplishments include going undercover in an insane asylum and replicating the journey described in "Around the World in 80 Days."

  2. yes; you can write confidently and be through with the character. there are quite a lot of woman journalists in the world. there is freedom for each and every individual.when you have the knowledge of freedom you can write about this.

  3. Women were allowed to write for publications early on, but often they were limited to society pages, cooking, gardening, poems and other domestic issues.  Covering hard news such as politics, wars or crime was generally considered men's business.
