When were you and your newborn discharged from the hospital?

and when did your baby get its PKU test if you know, and when was the babies first appointment? blessings

discharged afte 3 days. I think the PKU was done at hospital - and we had a doctors appoint in the third week for a check up.

I had to stay 3 days because my baby had jaundice and I had group b strep. She got two PKU's one after 24 hours and another after 48 hours. You should see your pediatrician the same week.

two days after delivery, not sure what the pku testing is.. i think it was a week or two after she was born..

It depends on your insurance.  Most insurance plans will only pay for 48 hrs normal delivery, or 72 hrs for c-section.   The first PKU test will be done in the hospital and then the second will be done at the baby's 2 week appointment with the pediatrician.

I was discharged 24 hours after birth......my son had an appoitment 10 days after coming out of the hospital......and im not to sure when they did his PKU.....must have been when i was in the hospital...

With my 1st I stayed 2 nights with my 2nd I stayed 1 night. They were brought home on the weekend and their 1st appointments were the following Monday.

I left the hospital 2 days after with my 1st and 2nd baby. His pku was done at the hospital and a follow up when he was 2 weeks. The baby's first appointment was when he was 3 days old. (I just had a baby 2 weeks ago!!)

With my first I was in the hospital 2 nights.  With my second I went home the next day.  Most tests the hospital does are done the day after they're born as far as I know.

Ohh.. and the first visit with the pediatrician was in one week.

We were out in 24 hours.  First appt. was within 2 days.  Baptism by 6 months (our Godparents were out of the country so we had to wait)
