When wil people realise that making plastic bottles for water and coke etc takeaway cartons and carrier bags?

Actually uses oil ,and maybe if these idots reduced or stopped using them the price of petrol /gasoline might drop ,along with the price of food and cost of living ...

You are talking about the sustainability of glass closed loop recycling being better than the same system for plastic. That is not necessarily true because as Gym points out, glass is heavier creating greater transporting weight for the same amount of liquid and plastic has been getting thinner and easier to recycle.

I can't believe I'm supporting plastic here but there we go - It is "possible" that less oil will be used with plastic as the choice over glass as liquid containers in transportation!

what would you like a coke bottle to be made of? paper? glass is a bit heavy and probably wouldnt sell as much.

i know. i recycle glass/paper etc, and try not to but plastics. i hate local councils!! ;-)
