When will Americans stand up again?

Question

This nation was founded on the ideals of honor, integrity, courage, and valor. Yet, we stand by as every other nation of the world runs us down. Yet, we stand by as our own government runs over us. When will we as Americans drop our sheeple ways and take charge of our destiny? When do we stop accepting mediocrity and corruption in our leaders. When do we stop pointing fingers at each other, and find solutions to our problems instead?

Yes, I recognize that I pointed fingers, explicite and implicite. The irony is not lost on me.

The solutions about which I'm asking must come from the top (our leadership) and the bottom (you, me, all of us). We need to find a way to meet in the middle. Brainstorm with me?

whenever we realize that the world isnt a nice place and we are slowly but surely relinquishing our strangle hold on world affairs so that the new may replace the old...just like we replaced Great Britain as the world leader a while back

the problem is you can never get enough people to pull together. look at the truckers who tried to stand up to the government and the oil companies, the media didn't give them enough attention and not enough of them went on strike to make an impact. look at the immigration problem , the whites and blacks are so busy fighting each other over past events, that they allowed all these foreigners to come in and take over. I don't think Americans own half the soil we live on. American people have the right to run the government but choose to sit back and let the government run them

At last an intelligent question..I too say when? However,this didn't happen over night..It started in the late 70's,with deregulation,,from that point on we have witnessed the subtle disintegration of our unions,,pensions,,wages, social           programs(soc.sec.,medicare,  jobs , industries,and anything that benefited the working man or the middle working class.." We the SHEEPLE" have bought into and drank the KOOL AID of Big Business, and the filthy rich,,who owns our government,,that we are lazy, don't want to work,,and shouldn't have the benefits they have arbitrarily taken from the American worker..The fact our government in concert with Big Business has taken our jobs and sent them to foreign   shores,, with the factory equipment,, and then imports the products we use to make back to the United States alone says We  Legal Americans have been sold out for  $um  and profit!! We spend 20billion a month for a non win able war,,ill conceived,,and managed,,of which the reason keeps changing!! As long as we are bickering amongst our selves,and blaming each other,,the real culprits,,mainly the "PARTIES,,LOBBYIST,AND THE GOVERNMENT,,continue to betray our country,,its citizens and everything we Americans  hold dear..Our infrastructure is decaying,,47mil. Americans have no health care,,12million illigals  are in this country and abusing our social systems,,and what do we do??Why we blame our Beloved America's conditions on the poor and those on welfare,, and the unions ,and lazy Americans,,while the lies and deceit flows from the white house,,and more jobs leave the country,, and the filthy rich,,beg and get corporate welfare,,tax breaks,, and bailed out after their criminal lending habits!! And who PAYS for all those bail outs?? Why WE do,, and our children will ,,IF there even IS an America after these debacules!! Wake Up  America,, Our  Demise is Near!!     SOLOMON

I cannot agree with you more! I have joined groups like Restore the Republic and NORML but I feel it's not enough. If we get together, there is power in numbers. A lot of people put down the "hippies and baby boomers" but you have to admit, they knew how to get attention! The Ron Paul March was supposed to send the message that we are tired of being pushed around by these corporate powers and government nonsense, but I haven't heard anything about it lately. If it is still going to happen, I will be sure to be there. In the mean time, maybe we should organize a march of our own.

There is the problem of many Americans that are not in a physical condition to take control. Once in top shape then things might move on. The irony is that in a nation with the right to bear arms most people cannot even lift them as there are certain things which get in the way which have become a problem as a result of food intake.  There is the option after ready to use the right to dissolve the Government and replace it with another . There is the possibility that this may happen through Revolution  if the right is not respected or through a citizen use of the member ship in The UN. People complain about how inefficient The UN is. This is because at present citizens are not involved only Government types and Government troops acting for The UN. The use of the UN section on illegal attacks of other nations plus the other rights is something citizens could use to deal with their problems. The U.S.A. is a member of The UN so  U.S.  citizens can use the power of The UN and The Constitution, plus The Right to Bear arms to change things in their own country. To restrain their own country.

I totally agree. But my biggest issue is the fact that most everyone in power in the American government is not in it for the betterment of the country but for the betterment of their bank accounts. As long as the rich are the only ones who can get elected this will not change. Their rich for a good reason and that usually is that they think nothing of no one but themselves. For this reason the huge companies actually run this country.They get the laws passed in their favor and get laws shot down that are not in their favor by way of cold hard cash.As long as the love of money, which by the way is the root of all evil, is running a nation it's ordinary citizens don't stand a chance.

first off stop watching sports,news and other media based garbage learn to play sports,and research the news for yourself and question the media,second if even half of this country would cross party lines and clean out the life long politicians(Ted Kennedy)politicians may begin to realize that they are our public servants and that they are not above the law,as it is now freedom and justice for all does not exist.

You're right about America fighting too much to get anything done. Dems and Repubs need to put the welfare of their people ahead of the party lines. Unfortunately, big business is who really runs this country thru lobbyist and incentive practices. Until we as a nation can get past the party lines which have been so severely divided, we will stay as we are. Sad but true. :)
