  1. lets not forget they are killing the earth, they are pretty much polluting the whole world

  2. Japan...... but they're doing scientific experiments...whats wrong with that.

I agree, I just don't understand why they can't understand what they are doing. Or they do realise what they are doing and just don't care.

  3. about the same time the rest of the countries of the world learn to stop endangering other species of almost extinct animals.

  4. learn or care? China is a financial world staple. There isn't much anyone can do.

  5. True, true! My friend told me she went to a Chinese cuisine and ate Shark fin soup! She said it tasted good though...

But agreed...sharks will become extinct if this goes on!

  6. That's ok, they are slowly killing themselves anyway. Tons of people die everyday from eating shark fin. They have a high content of Mercury, so eating it over a long period of time can be fatal. Turnabout is fair play ^_^

  7. As other correct answers pointed out, Japan is doing the whaling and fishing but the Chinese are doing the buying of the food (exports). Also Canada carries out sealing and whaling. Parts of Scandanavia, northern Europe such as Norway I believe. It is not just going to drive the species to extinction per se, it will, but not by itself. It also causes much pain and suffering to the shark that is thrown still alive overboard with no fins. It will disrupt the entire oceanic ecosystem of a heavily fished area. Novelty items are big over there. Tiger bones are believed to make you as strong as a tiger. Rhino horns.

  8. With continuous earth quakes to minimize their vast growing population.

  9. I doubt the world really cares as long as they make a profit. Look at the US when will they stop 'freeing' third world countries (colonizing) for their resources like oil?

  10. If people owned the oceans and whales, we wouldn't have this problem. Conservation groups would have their whales and their tracts of ocean.

Whale and shark farmers would have a vested interest in keeping whales and sharks alive, because if they don't, they lose their profits.

Because nobody owns the oceans or the animals in them, everyone's rushing to get as much as they can before the other guy does. With private, defined ownership of whales and ocean, overfishing would stop because it simply would not be profitable.

  11. Ummm, I think you mean Japan!?
