I'm a big David Price fan and an even bigger Rays fan. I've been looking everywhere to see if anyone knows when he'll be up and pitching for the Rays. I know he's been dealing and I heard soon, but does anyone how long that means?

  1. i honestly dont know why they havent brought him up yet. Everything ive read and heard about him sounds like he should be the real deal. It seems like they would have someone that they feel Price would pitch better than...and if they put him in the pen where they could regulate his pitch count (a la Joba last year) he could be a (another) big boost.

The only reason i can think of that they havent brought him up is because they dont want to mess with the team chemistry. But apparenty he is tearing it up in the minors...I would go ahead and take the chance now

  2. He may get a shot in the pen soon.

  3. When the rosters are expanded they may bring him up to see some action in the bullpen. I expect him to be in the rotation next year.

  4. I'm guessing he'll be in the 'pen by mid-September.

fun fact: around freshman year, Price almost quit the baseball team to work at a local McDonald's, but was convinced by his coach that he had a brighter future in baseball.

  5. He will join the Rays toward the end of August so he would be available for post-season play should the team make it there.

He will be added to the roster while another player goes onto the DL.

That way both players would be eligible to be on the playoff roster, even though they can have only 25 players.

  6. I think he'll be called up after the Minor League season ends in September if he continues to pitch we'll in the minors.
