  1. When your military is strong enough to take and hold it

Croxx, you guys got hosed, that's for sure, bummer, I'd stick up for you today!

  2. When you build a nuclear arsenal with 7,000 warheads in it to scare the sh*t out of the Moscovites.

  3. This is why Russia would be very foolish to lay claim to the Russian-dominated provinces in Georgia.  It would awake similar claims within Russia to cede to another sovereign power or to claim independence.

I raised the topic of Karelia in another question:

  4. The Finns did beat the Russians militarily but got no support from the "League of Nations"  Same as Ethiopia with the Italian invasion.  But had to agree to the deal because of the size difference.  It was n**i Germany and the fact that they got badly bloodied that kept the Russians from taking over Finland.  The UN is equally useless today.  If you look at the map and understand the Finnish Mannerhein Line, you will see that the Russians had to take this part of Finland as a defensive buffer.

My Father was a Fin who married an English lady during WWII.

I can't say hello in Finish but he spoke 5 and was literate in 3.  The Fins learn languages because no one can learn theirs.   I too lived in England and had to take French and Spanish in school.  But picked up a lot of Japanese without schooling.  Languages seem to be in the blood.  Try learning a romance language.

Read up on Mannerhein, he was the most interesting of all the "Finnish"  caricatures.  He was he was born in Sweden.

  5. Sadly, it is unlikely in the foreseeeable future.

  6. Croxx you could ask George Bush to have a stern word or two with Medvedev or even Putin but i think they may not be listening to him at the mo but of course i wish you luck.

  7. oletko Suomalainen :)

rakastan Suomia mutta en tiedä ^^

    anteeksi :/

Edit : my Finnish is ok maybe :D but not perfect, I am Scottish, live here too, but your mum is lucky to know so many languages, jealoouus :D
