Why did McCain mislead the Georgian president in believing he had the power to send troops in if the Russian invaded their country . Is McCain rhetoric with Putin ,Russia the very reason this country don't need a out of touch old man like McCain who would only get this country in a war with Russia a war that could be the end of all wars.

  1. McCain can not and will not send the troops to fight with Russia. For one he will never be the president. For two, war with Russia means assured mutual destruction.

  2. McCain never said that, and it is to bad our President hasn't already done it.

  3.

I just hope McCain doesn't succeed in escalating the hostility and rhetoric to the next level.

He needs a choke collar and a muzzle.  Hopefully we'll give him both this November.

  4. McCain said he had spoken with Georgian President Mikhail Saakashvili late Saturday and called Russia's military actions in the conflict "totally, absolutely unacceptable."

"I would be very direct with President Putin that these actions will have consequences long term, in terms of our relationship with Russia, and it is in violation of the norms of international conduct," he said in an interview with The Associated Press in Las Vegas, incorrectly calling Vladimir Putin the Russian president. Putin has taken on the position of prime minister after the election of his personally chosen successor in the presidency, Dmitry Medvedev.

McCain has taken a consistently tough line against Moscow throughout the campaign, saying he would seek to expel the Kremlin from membership in the G-8, the bloc of economically powerful world nations to which Russia gained membership only in 1997.

McCain has said Russia's reversion to autocratic rule during Putin's leadership make it unfit for membership in an organization where all others are democracies.

McCain better get elected before he starts up the Republican Sabre-Rattling Machine™.

  5. War with Russia is inevitable. Better to get it over with now, before they get any stronger.

  6. He thinks if he promises to abdicate after one term, he can start his empororship early.

  7. No I don't think McCain is good.  But it much rather live in his America than than Obama's United Socialist States of America.

Did you happen to hear the interview of the Russian soldier in Georgia.  "The American Soldiers taught the Georgina's Soldier's well.  They taught them how to run."

If that doesn't send us a message, I don't know what does.

  8. I dispute your whole premise.  Show me the evidence that McCain promised this and that the Georgian President believed him.

  9. A: Russia would not want a war with the US as they know the result.

B: This is a European problem and can be dealt with.

  10. Funny, I didn't know that anyone in the Senate had a private Army at their command . . .

So, what are you basing this ludicrous lie on?  Oh, probably the mainstream media, who have so fallen in love with Obama that they are willing to lie, cheat, steal, and make up stories to ensure he elected.

    Poor fool.

  11. It's sounding like Obama, his advisers and too many of his "educated" supporters skipped Modern European History in college.

Obama is auditioning for the modern version of the Neville Chamberlain Appeaser of the 21st Century role.

American voters are not going to let that happen.

Neither the US nor our European allies can afford Word War III.

Coincidentally, the news of Russia's invasion of Georgia came at 3 AM.

    The 3 AM phone call.

Obama's wishy-washy statement told Putin all he needed to hear.

McCain's immediate statement was forceful and appropriate and was backed up by experts from both sides of the aisle.

The Russian Bear is on the move again to threaten Europe just as Germany moved against the Sudenland.

Russia has to be cut off at the pass. Now.

Those who don't learn the lessons of history are doomed to repeat its mistakes.

Calvin Coolidge said that Patriotism is taking care of yourself by taking care of your country first.

Obama should go pull out a history text and get over himself.

  12. Maybe you should watch the news. He was asked that question yesterday.. He said NO he would not!!
