Question:

When will Halfords do something about the shortage of petrol containers?

Evert day I spend over a hour in my local petrol queue, sometimes to only manage to squeeze in a few pence worth of fuel. And I have had to suffer torrents of abuse from agressive young women drivers in the process.

I have got a medical condition and for me a car isn't a luxury it's a NECESSITY. So I thought I'd pop into Halfords and buy a couple of petrol containers, so I could stockpile some more fuel in my shed. Imaginge my shock and disgust to find they had sold out, and did not know when they could expect any more supplies.

So that's ANOTHER shortage this Labour Government have caused, but they are keeping quiet about it. I think it's a disgrace, personally.

  1. Get a bike then

Ps Good work in keeping the panic going it will make the fuel run out quicker. lol

  2. This is firmly an industrial dispute, it has nothing to do with the Labour Government. It has a lot more to do with the way it's being reported on the news. Both the papers and TV reports are causing a proper panic by saying that there will be a fuel shortage (therefore causing people to panic buy fuel & actually cause a fuel shortage in the process!) There is enough spare capacity for around 70 days of fuel under normal usage conditions. Unfortunately as tabloids & TV news programs seem to be intent on causing a panic, the usage is anything but normal. Besides, you do not need to put fuel in your car every single day that is why you probably have a large fuel tank to contain the fuel. Its actions like what you are describing (i.e. going to the pumps to put a few pennies worth of fuel in your car) that is causing the hour long waits that you have to endure. If everyone (including you!) stopped doing that there would not be a problem!

Just so you know, Halfords are not the only place that stock petrol cans! Most local garages do it too.

  3. sad

  4. I have 3 petrol cans in my garage, they are all full

You should calm down, not rant at Halfrods adn the government for your inability to plan.

(mine stock is for the mower, before you rant at me for panic buying or something )

I assume this is a joke, no one really thinks like that, do they ?

  5. Why not get a wheelie bin and fill that with petrol?

Just make sure you don't fill it so full that the lid is ajar and don't put it out on the wrong day or you might get a fixed penalty.
