When will I be served?

I'm being sued over a credit card debt, but have not been served.

If the summons is issued for civil court on July 1st and with a due date of July 31st, when should it be served? The scheduled court date is August 15th and this is in Missouri.

If I'm not served at all does that mean I don't have to go to the court date?

I've sent a letter to work something out with the credit card company's law firm, but haven't heard anything back yet.

How do you know you've been sued if you haven't been served?

You can get served up to 2 weeks or so before court date....so anytime soon...it's coming.
