When will I know the gender of my baby?

I just turned 3 months pregnant and I wanted to know when will i know the gender.

When the baby is born.

Firstly routine ultrasounds are not recommended and at best do not improve outcomes, at worst they cause unnecessary testing, stress, and some of the tests can cause negative outcomes.

Secondly ultrasounds are often wrong.

most doctors prefer to wait til 20 weeks before scheduling a level 2 ultrasound... you may be able to tell before that but you get a clearer picture after 20 weeks... it's tough to wait, but if you only have insurance covering one U/S it's worth the wait :)

You can find out at the ultrasound you have between 18-22 weeks. If they can figure it out.

for my 2 kids the doc did it between 21-23weeks. and it would be your first ultrasound! I think it all depends on the doc too. Mine said you cant tell till those weeks! Congrats!

I dont know why you all have booed me because I found out with all 4 of my babies with 100% accuracy what they were.Now of course you can wait but the ? was when can she know and she can know at 16 wks if her dr lets her and knows what they are doing.

They can tell anywhere from 18-21 weeks. The best is at your 20 week appt.

I had mine done at 18 and we saw the goodies. But that was my last scan, and I was praying til the end that she was a girl .lol.

Some say they found out when they were 16 weeks....like my sister, they said BOY....ugh uhhhhh, GIRL, found out when Heather popped out! So best bet is to wait til you have your 20 week scan. Good Luck!! & Congrats!!!!

My doctor always tries to schedule the ultrasound for gender at 21-22 weeks.  He says  that's the best time because baby is big enough to tell the difference between boy or girl, but small enough that the technician can usually get a good look at it.

You will have a scan at around the 20 week mark and should hopefully find out then (if your little one co-operates!).

At your 20 week ultrasound..unless your baby is being stubborn and wont show his/her goods..congrats!
