When will I see the Solar Eclipse tomorrow?

Being as I live in Michigan and will be traveling to the northern part of the state tomorrow, I'm wondering when, if possible, will I see the Eclipse. Looking at Space.com, it shows that potentially I'll see it around 9:30 UT time (or perhaps even a lot sooner, it's vague). Doing some research I learned the UT time is 4 hours ahead of me. So that means that the eclipse will be viewable at 5:30 AM??? Is that possible?

  1. you won't.

please look at the maps. nasa ppl worked hard to make them and will cry if nobody looks at them. i hate to see a grown astrophysicist cry.

  2. here is all the info  on where it is !http://www.skyandtelescope.com/observing...

  3. You'll have to go a lot farther north than North Michigan i.e. the far north of Canada. The only part of the U.S. which will see a partial eclipse is the north east corner of Maine. There is a map at: http://eclipse.gsfc.nasa.gov/SEpubs/2008...

  4. You won't. You're too far south and west to see it, even partially.

  5. You should be able to see a partial eclipse at sunrise.

Use projection - which can be as easy as making a small hole in your hands and looking at the shadow on the ground.

Use a full aperture solar filter for a telescope.

Of course, the Michigan nebula may make it impossible.
