  1. Philip L's got it right, the police are required to enforce the  laws, they don't make them.

  2. without drugs they would not have a job

  3. I don't know any officer that truly believes he/she is going to stop the war on drugs.  "Winning the war on drugs" is a political promise that is made by numerous elected officials, not police.  Most officers view the war on drugs as similar to taking out the garbage.  If your garbage man didn't come along every week, your garbage would just pile up.  Same concept here.  If officers were not trying to counteract drug sales/use, the problem would be much worse than it is.

  4. They all ready know this but they get to keep some of the money when they raid a place that has drugs and cash on hand so never.

  5. I guess they wont

  6. The Federal goverment spends billions on the "war on drugs" in the USA (money for local enforcement) and on interdiction efforts overseas.  As long as the money flow, they will spend it on wasteful attempts to rid us of drug abuse.

The police will stop spending time and money fighting drug abuse when the money isn't there to do it any more.

It's just that simple.  They know they'll never eradicate recreational dug use as well as any of us.

  7. Welcome to modern Prohibition

  8. Nope.

  9. Your questions should be "When will politicians..."  Police only enforce laws enacted by legislature.  That is why police officers are referred to as "law enforcement officers."  If the politicians legalized drugs then there would be no reason for cops to bust users or dealers.
