All Yuh ah missing Roger. So ah feel like carrying on he work for him..............

The man who led a band of killers that raped and pillaged Central Trinidad villages for months, has been shot dead by police in a forest camp in Valencia.

Marlon Bhagwandeen, 30, tried to shoot his way out when police surrounded his hide-out off Oropouche Road on Thursday night, police said.

He died before officers could get him to the Arima District Hospital.

But for the families whose lives were destroyed by his gang before police regained control, Bhagwandeen's death was worth nothing.

Bhagwandeen is said to have been one of six men who terrorised farmer Ujistar Narine in Las Lomas No 1, last November. Narine's sons were chopped, his wife, Dhanmatie, and daughter were beaten, and the family's possessions taken before Narine was killed.

Dhanmatie Narine told the Express yesterday: "I don't ever want to remember what happened. This destroyed our life.
