When will a dry socket be painful?Answers please!

How long after you lose your blood clot would it start hurting? Is it possible to get one if it's starting to prety much heal?

  1. Follow the instructions given at the dental office.....don't worry about it....and you will most likely be fine....only a small number of people get a dry socket....

    If you are healing....you are past the problem time.....


  2. I was told if you have dry socket it is very very painful. You will feel the pain along the cheek where the extraction took place and the pain will radiate down you throat. call your dr if it happens. Do not use a straw or smoke cig. because that will def. cause dry soclet.

  3. Dry socket develops 3-5 days after the extraction, and will be incredibly painful! If your mouth starts hurting even worse then before, see your dentist or oral surgeon.
