When will appointments for H1B visa open for 2007?

Normally it opens in April but thie time on the first day itself for 65000 positions more than 115000 applications were received. I read in websites that they may adopt lottery basis  to choose the 65000 positions.  For next year the (2009) the applications will be received in april2008.

I hear for american qualified people still few positions are available.

It's already over. It was in apr. Now they stopped getting the application.
