Question:

When will electricity be restored after payment is made?

My mom asked me to pay the electricity bill while she was on vacation. (we live in 2 different cities) and I completely forgot.

She got back today and realized the power is cut off. I immediately made an online payment, how long does it typically take for them to restore the power?

Thanks.

  1. It will depend on when you made the payment.  If it is early enough they can do it same day, if not then it will be the next day.

  2. Someone has to physically come to the property and switch the meter back on.  Depending on when payment is made, they'll typically have someone out that afternoon or the following business day.

Follow up the online payment with a call to customer service.  You can expedite the process by contacting them and confirming payment.  Otherwise, it might take a day before billing notifies service to schedule the reconnect - and then *another* day before someone comes out to do it!

  3. When they get around to it but normally the next day before end of business day. I hope your online pay is immediately and not one of the slower bill pays!
