Question:

When will feminists learn that male and females are not equal?

Both males and females have different strengths and weaknesses, but they will never be "equal". One example is males have more muscles naturally, so they would be better suited for say construction work or firefighting. I'm not saying women CAN'T do this, they can if they really want, but their bodies aren't made to do harder labor like males are. I'm not saying one is better than the other, but they are different and both of their own set of strengths.

  1. equality refers to equality of rights, of chances, of treatment in society, in acknowledging one's achievements and so on. so there's no point in convincing anyone about the differences, we are all aware of that.

  2. I agree. I believe the highest calling of a woman is rearing children, loving her husband, and making a home. The feminists can blast me all they want, but with all due respect, if mommy wants to work with daddy in his construction job, then who will take care of the kids? The family is the fabric of society! Women have their role, and men have their role. They are different, but not one is better than the other.

Men and women are NOT equal. I'm talking about this "=" sign. Men are not women, and women are not men. Confuse the two, and your society collapses.

  3. NEVER>

  4. Well you are right, that they are not totally equal. But i think what it is women want is to have equal opportunity. If there is a woman that qualifies or is able to do a what would normally be a male oriented  job, then she shouldn't be discriminated against. She should be able to get the job, if she is right. And in a majority, the genders have their weaknesses and strengths, but let's not forget we are all individuals. Some women are stronger than some men, and some men are more "sensitive" than some women.

  5. Females can do any job a male can do. You're right tbh. I mean i have very strong views on this kind of thing but you do make a lot of sense. Men naturally are stronger (Not all might i add) but thats why the majority of construction workers are men. Personally i feel i could do that kind of job too and for about 2 years i was all for joining the fire service and went to college for it but i discovered i have a heart condition which prevents me from doing so. Anyway by equal you clearly mean don't share the same strengths and weaknesses which is fair enough. I think feminists get annoyed because the way women used to be treated, as if they physically couldn't do any kind of job. Things have changed now though.

  6. pandas and people are created equal

  7. ofcourse they are not identical and ofcourse men have more muscles, and it is because they(men) are stronger women need more strength.  Confusing, huh!

"It is because of men there are feminists."

Because men are stronger they often like to think too much of themselfs and like to discriminate against women and treat women bad,  women feel they need to be stronger and see a need to get rid of such treatment.

Men+Strength+Ego+Bad Attitude+ Bad treatment towards Women= Women automaticaly going Against that= Feminists

So its really all mens fault. LOL..... I'm JUST KIDDING!!!!

Oh and yeah, if men would do their jobs of taking care of their woman than their woman wouldn't get on their neck so much!!

(OFCOURSE THIS DOENS"T APPLY TO ALL MEN! THERE ARE SOME GREAT MEN OUT THEIR THAT DO THEIR JOB RIGHT AND THEY SHOULD BE RESPECTED FOR IT, bet you anything a wife of such a man wouldn't be a femenist!!)

  8. The problem is that people become confused with words like equal.

For some, they refer more to the mathematical definition, which would mean that they are the same.

For others, equal merely means by rights, and they acknowledge that each gender has its own strengths and weaknesses

  9. You can't reason with brainwashed people so why bother?

No they will never get it.

  10. Yes, Tracey is right.

The underlying philosophy essentially is as follows...

"Since bench presses do not matter any to a woman there is no point arguing that woman can not bench press as much.

However if it was the case that mere *claiming* bench presses enabled you to earn $50 an hour, then...

Dare you challenge a woman that she can not bench press as much as men.

And if indeed she can not “bench press” as much, let us give her allowances, promotions, money, special rights, special/customized bench press regulations and numerous other such lee ways to enable her to attempt more such bench presses".

  11. They are equal. What equal in this sense means is that Women and men should have equal rights in everything. Women aren't weaker than men, they just have strong points in other places. Like in a way women are stronger than men. Try having a man get his uterus ripped apart each month and expelled

out of him. Try having a man go through pregnancy and child birth. Then we'll see who's stronger. Strength isn't only in Muscles. its also in knowledge.

  12. When will you learn that not being the same doesn't mean not being equal? Frankly, I don't care that I can't do hard labour — I've always preferred working in an office setting. But other women can, and that's all that matters.

  13. I agree that men and women are NOT equal. No one is really equal if you think about it we all have strengths and weaknesses. Men are meant to be the providers and women are meant to be the caretakers. I believe that men and women are equally important. Without one we wouldn't have the other. If God did not thing women were as important he wouldn't have taken the rib from Adam to create us. God bless.

  14. I don't view "equality" in this sense as meaning "exactly the same".

I'm not built for manual labor.. I concede that point ... but, am I any less important or are my strengths any less valuable than a man's, no.

I see a man and woman being "equal" as meaning that neither controls the other, whatever it is that each of them does best, contributes equally to the relationship/business/world/etc.

I don't really consider myself a "feminist" so this may not be what you were looking for.. but it is my opinion.

  15. them being equal does not mean they are identical. of course there are differences but neither is inferior or should be treated as if they are. they are not identical but they should have equal rights and have value in society.

  16. "Equal" does not mean "identical." When women speak of equality between the sexes, they are not talking about how much each can bench press.

  17. Feminists do agree that there is an overall difference in muscle strength, what they state is that it doesn't matter - if a woman is capable of doing a job she should be allowed to do it if she wishes, regardless of how many other women could do it compared to how many other men.

Also, physical strength is one of the very, very few empirically observed and innate gender differences. The other differences that do exist also show much more overlap. So men and women are much more the same than they are different. Especially considering the amount of individual variation within the groups. This isn't an opinion, btw.

  18. Dude... like many have said, feminism is not about comparing physical ability. I know many men who are genetically smaller, frail, skinny or otherwise not fit for doing construction or other hard manual labor types of work. So?

Lets look at racism as a way of comparing this. African Americans were enslaved in this country and it took one h**l of a fight to change that, then the rights of said race were not even legalized until the sixties... now is it hard to blame them for being a little pissed, I don't think so.

At the same time women have been oppressed in much the same way, and in many religious practices (fundamental conservative Christians for example) they still are. "Women should be bare foot, pregnant and cooking me my damned dinner by golly... oh and grab me a beer" is a sad sad teaching that men still receive today. It is sickening.

Women by virtue of their physiology are better equipped to deal with pain that us men are, culture sadly teaches men that we are supposed to be "strong and stoic", real men don't cry and all that nonsense.  This is wrong. We, females and males alike experience hurt and pain, grieving and guilt as do all humans... why is it wrong for a man to show vulnerability.

A man should be the gatekeeper who protects the door to the sacred acts of the mother/woman. Without interfering in the ritual of the womans right, we should compassionately honor the beauty of the womans roll in the continuance of our species.

In my opinion, and in my experience... men have been served a huge injustice in that we have had thrown on us a huge cultural taboo around being the "one who wares the pants".

What? And how is it more important that we "bring home the bacon" as appose to the woman who choses to work? Why is it a social norm that men work and women cook and clean... its a sham my friend.

This is my personal list of the highest orders of life.

    1. God/Creator/Mother Earth/Spirit

    2. Mother (woman who bares children)

    3. Father (who honors his roll as such)

    4. Family (children/extended family etc.)

    5. Mentors and Teachers (self explanatory)

    6. Friends (those who support and honor your individual process)

So, its pretty simple if you think about it... in our animal instinct men provide and protect. Women provide and bring forth life. Who's really doing the work here?

I hope you continue to inquire into the dynamics of life. Cultural conditioning will be your biggest bump in the road, but keep on asking for the truth and you will receive it (not necessarily on Yahoo Answers though).

Peace, and blessed are all people equal in the eyes of Creator!

  19. Biologically, we all know women get the S****y deal.

The point of feminism has nothing to do with muscle mass and hard labour. Feminism, at its core, is simply the practice of aknowledging that women and men both have human brains and men are not some sort of entirely different and higher species.

  20. Female bodies are quite able to cope with physical tasks. I'm not arguing with the fact that they have less muscle, on average, but your blind supposition that because they have LESS muscle they automatically cannot carry out ANY physical labour.

  21. When will antifeminists learn that Rush Limbaugh is not a legitimate scientific authority?

  22. You are assuming the words "equal" and "same" are synonymous. They are not. An apple and a orange can be worth EQUAL amounts of money, but they are not the same. Do you get what I am getting at here?

  23. Equal does not mean the same in terms of treating each gender the same.  There are obvious physical reasons why not.  However, there are no reasons for women and men to be given differering opportunities in the job place or in the home.
