When will gas be $5 a gallon?

It's already $4 here. Gas prices have been going up, constantly, every single day... Do you think we'll see $5 / gal. gas by Labor Day? [in the U.S.]

  1. When oil gets to about $150/barrel.  Or if there is a major hurricanein the Gulf.

  3. No, I think gas prices have peaked. Oil has been going down the last 2 weeks. Gas always peaks around Memorial Day, then it goes down.

    I think we will pay $3.60 to $3.80 for the remainder of the year.

    I don't know about $5, but it will probably be in the next 2-5 years. We will not see it until 2010 at the earliest. Demand is dropping and there will not be as many big raises

    Maybe by then, we will all be driving hybrids.
