  1. When we learn to leave our BIG TRUCK and SUV at home and uses our little 4 cylinders car.    Basically, it is supply and demand.  The oil countries know it and we as consumer just want more and they can set whatever price they want.

So, drive your little car, motorcycle, or bicycle to work.

  2. Right after your 60% raise in salary.

  3. never

its only going to go higher

u can take that to the bank

  4. not soon enough

  5. When our government builds a good transit system and demand for gas goes down.

  6. Pffft. Americans still aren't paying at the pump what the rest of the worlds been paying for decades.

Petrol is perfectly affordable for anyone on a decent income with a sensibly manufactured vehicle.

  7. Whenever they boost everyone's salary!!!!!!!

when my grandmother was young gas was .25 cents a gallon and when it jumped to 50 cents everyone complained.. cuz THAT was high back then... people didnt make as much. She made a $100 check every month and it took care of EVERYTHING (food, cas, bills, everything).

So whenever they raise our checks then yeah everything will be affordable again.

  8. When you start making more money.

  9. The price of gas will continue to rise for many reasons. Higher demand in China and India, lower value of the U.S. dollar and most of the oil wells around the world are at least 30 years old which means less oil comes out of them now. Sorry for the bad news. If someone attacks Iran, gas $6 for sure.

  10. NEVER!

  11. when oilman Bush is out of office

  12. It won't. Now is the time to do something about it. You don't have to buy a new car because it's more fuel efficient. You can convert your current car easily and save bundles on gas. Using this method, you can almost double your gas mileage in any vehicle.

  13. to be honest, as soon as it runs out!

  14. When alternative fuels engage in serious competition.

As long as oil has a stranglehold on the entire transportation industry, prices will be captive to producers, refiners, retailers and speculators.

When alternative fuels come online and the nature of the competition is between people buying alternative fuel cars and gasoline powered cars, the price will hit rock bottom as the fuel producers compete to get the car companies to make cars that burn their stuff.

And the car-makers are only going to make stuff they can sell, so it will be a slug-fest between fuel makers to get people to choose cars that burn their products.  And this is done through lower prices.

The way to hasten the day is to buy cars that run on ANYTHING BUT gasoline.

So go out and get solar panels put on your house so you can run an electric car for your daily driving.

Buy either a flex-fuel or an E-85 methanol burning car.

Buy a CNG car (they're available RIGHT NOW!).  CNG is very very cool, you fill it at home with a special compressor you buy that sucks it from your natural gas line.  They cost pennies on the dollar to run compared to gasoline.

Even a hydrogen "fuel-cell" car will send the message to Big Oil that you've had it up to here with high fuel prices.

The more people that do something, and the sooner they do it, the sooner the oil bubble will pop!

    .

  15. when you get a 4th job

  16. When Saudi Arabia decides to lower their prices and produce more oil, seriously, they have us by the balls and we know it.

  17. When Bush isn't president anymore.

  18. Never.. we have to switch to other alternatives...

  19. Oil companies have learned that America will pay $4 a gallon for gas - do you think they are going to lower the price (do you think that they care that you have to eat Raman Noodles 6 days a week to be able to afford it)?  My guess would be the 12th of never.

Perhaps with the massive inflation that is inevatible (because we have held the interest rates so articially low for so long in order to spur on economic growth), when $4 is worth about what $2 is worth today, then maybe $4 a gallon gas will be affordable.  By then, gas will probably be $8 though.

  20. when there is no more gas left....then its free!!

  21. When you vote everyone out of office and put some real people in there.

  22. i don`t think it will.

  23. Never.

I remember everyone complaining when it was 95 cent.
