  1. I'm sure we've already gotten contact from aliens. Crop circles. . . radio signals. . . Humans are just ignorant and don't realize it yet.

  2. WHO'S TO SAY WE DON'T ALREADY? MAYBE THEY LIVE AMONGST US. IF THEY ARE SO FAR ADVANCE IN TECHNOLOGY THEY WOULD HAVE BEEN HERE THOUSANDS OF YEARS AGO. ANYWAY I THINK WE ARE READY, BESIDES WE DO HAVE UNPROTECTED BORDERS AND GOD KNOWS WHAT IS CROSSING THEM. BUT WE DON'T SEEM TO MIND OR CARE.

  3. I like what Tommy Lee Jones said in "Men in Black." It was something like, "a single person can be intelligent and thoughtful, but people in groups are just a panicky herd." Sure, one person may be ready...the REAL question is, "Is the Media ready?"

  4. First contact will happen when it happens, not when we think we're ready. It could have happened hundreds of years ago (it didn't, but it could have). It could happen tomorrow. It will most likely happen in some hundreds of years when we send a ship to some nearby star and find there are some tool-using hunter-gatherers on one of its planets. Like most events we'll just have to cope with it as best we're able.

I think we could probably handle it if it happened today.

  5. i am not sure about others but i still prefer to see only other creatures very much like ourselves. I might have heart attack if i see any which is very different.

  6. Never, we hear all these stories of people being abducted and probed, and how scared the people were. We had made for TV movies like V which don't really depict ET's in the best of light. Even if Hollywood made a bunch of alien friendly movies humanity would never be ready for contact. I agree with the people who wrote that we can't get along with ourselves.

  7. Read this:

It should give you what you are looking for and even more!!

  8. we will never be 'ready'

    but 'they' are here, now.

hmmm lets ponder that one for a moment.

imagine that they manifest themselves to the world.

    eliminate war, disease, greed, hunger

provide us with a just and caring government

teach us to love one another.

kind of boring   but very safe.

    perhaps agent smith was right

    we wouldnt accept the program

I know you're out there. I can feel you now. I know that you're afraid. You're afraid of us. You're afraid of change. I don't know the future. I didn't come here to tell you how this is going to end. I came here to tell you how it's going to begin. I'm going to hang up this phone and then I'm going to show these people what you don't want them to see. I'm going to show them a world without you, a world without rules and controls, without borders or boundaries, a world where anything is possible. Where we go from there is a choice I leave to you.

or are we living in a world where s*x and horror are the new gods?

what would be the purpose of getting up in the morning?

no, we will never be ready.

  9. The interactives of science.  The species dragons was written

in 105 million B.C. to have the best chance of growth in the

work world of competition in the near future, when barricilians

would come out of the depths of sea life and fly without power.

Competition to survive is not the world plan, planning is the key

to choosing the direction of the product market.  Education will

be the input for many generations at least on an average of

80,000 years before the solar energy changes shape.  Anyway

the meeting with the Isotropicalos was not cancelled, they used

their pod centre to collect upgrade and Ianded the toutrone to

regulate their in flux for chromotap.  Same is simmed at all dock.

  10. humanity isn't even ready for contact with humanity, OBVIOUSLY...so i would pity the extraterrestrial who might make themselves known yet...they're watching, that's why they haven't made themselves officially known. would you if you could see us from their perspective?...i seriously doubt it...they think we're a planet of homicidal maniacs, and i think they're right on

if we would evolve rather than devolving as we seem to be, they might show themselves to the masses but i think that's sadly far in this planet of"humanitie's' future...way far the way things are looking, it's depressing really

  11. What does humanity being "ready" have to do with anything. When they exist and/or get here, we'll have to be ready.

  12. I think we would need a special kind of person to communicate one that doesn't freak out and one that  is easily adaptable.

  13. Nothing. is anyone ever totally ready for something? and extraterrestrial civilization, how can we be ready for something we don't know could happen or be out there? yeah, never.

  14. Theoretically speaking, since I hope you are aware by now that extraterrestrial civilizations are fictional, humanity as it is would need a 180 degree turn from where we are. We are a consumerist society now. A society bent on domination, poor judgment, monetary value of life, and disgusting habits is far from likely to be ready any time soon. Just for laughs, I dont think any aliens would even want to talk with us. Haha! But this human race is so corrupted in its own self exploration at that, it would/will take us years to develop the kind of smarts that you see on Star Trek. Simply observe the stupidity of our race in everyday settings. We smoke cigarettes that kill us; We cant drive a vehicle worth sh**; We have a hard time understanding the simplest things in life. We are so focused on questioning everything we have developed as a race that we forget the very purpose of existence, and continue to fall lower in the moral world as our society compliments itself for all the human accomplishments that are actually worthless. Keep in mind, we have difficulty "making contact" with other races on earth, much less extraterrestrials.

  15. I would think not in several thousand years, if ever. Keep in mind that any 'living' entity which was so far advanced in 'intelligence' that it made it to our solar system, from a planet even within our galaxy, probably would see we human beings as we see, say, a cow, or a goat, or any other such critter. We primates think we're smart, but in fact, we really ain't, not yet. This very computer of mine, that links me to humans around the globe, will be a museum piece within a hundred years, a relic, something my great-great-great grandchildren will laugh at. I'm wondering if we'll ever be 'ready.' As we advance, so shall extraterrestrials.

  16. We been ready and been doing since 2001 when Bush was appointed.

The only explanation for his decisions or lack thereof, is that he must be from another planet!
