When will hybrid vehicles be avaiable in RP and will they be effective with our flooded roads?

Toyota Prius have tested their model here in RP. It would be interesting to know the results. It would be helpful to know other brands,too. Have they tested the efficiency and effectivity with our bad roads? How about slightly or very flooded roads? How can electricity be stored? Will our 220 volts home sockets be effective or do they have adaptors? Will the cost be of these hybrid vehicles be affordable? How nice it would be to contribute to the clean and green environment and stem the tide of global warming!

The Prius has a very good traction control system, because the electric motor is always available to deliver just the right torque. If really flooded then it can run on just electric so doesn't need to "breath".

The electric is stored in NiMH batteries, but as a driver/owner you don't need to worry how it works, just drive & enjoy.

The Prius is not plug-in :( so does not use your electric supply.

You will probably need to import if Toyota don't supply, so will not be cheap. There is someone in Malaysia that imported one from UK see http://www.evworld.com/article.cfm?story...
