When will i be able to decide if i want to see my dad or not?

ok, my mom and dad got divorced when i was 2, I'm 14 now and i want to know when i can make the decision of if i want to see him or not....like, what age? i want to e-mail him because i ain't talked to him in 4 years, but I'm scared i'll have to see him, and i don't want to because we live sates apart and don't want my mom to know....HELP PLEASE!!!

Yes, what about now? He probably has wondered what has happen to you, but afraid to call. He will not blow you off. Your Mom should be included in your decision and if she has a concern be sure you hear her out.

idk what age, but if u really want to get into contact with him, then you shouldn't be afraid to let ur mom kno. email him if u want. he's ur dad and u shud at least giv him a try. after, u may of may not want a relationship with him. but how wil u kno if u don't try?

I can see why you wouldn't want your mom to know, but in situation, her help would probably be best. and if you do contact your dad, then you have to figure your mom will eventually find out about it somehow from him anyway, so to save yourself a lot of problems and ask for her help.

after age 13, u can make ur own decisions. u can choose to see him or not to see him. u can even choose to live with him or not.
