When will i start recieving maternity allowance

Question

I have recieved a letter saying i will be recieving maternity allowance, and it started from the 14th July, and will be paid weekly into my bank. Does anyone know when the first payment will be made and is there a specific day of the week that it comes into bank.

Its usually paid weekly, so you should have started to receive it by now.  I would phone them up and ask why you have not yet received any payments.  They will backdate the payments for you, but the sooner you notify them of the error, the better.

dont even start me on this one!!

I sent off my maternity allowance forms in May and on the 30th July received a letter to say that im entitled to maternity allowance from the 25th May - ive been waiting 12 weeks for it now!!

Apparantly they have been severely backlogged and in June were still processing Aprils claims. The letter states that you will be paid weekly and on what day, mines a Friday.

If there is no note on the letter they have sent you telling you when you will receive your payment, you will probably be sent another letter telling you when the first payment will be made, ie i received an orriginal on the 7th July to say i was entitled and then the 2nd letter arrived July 30th to say id be paid £1200 of arrears in the next 6 days - im still waiting a week on though!

Keep chasing them as they have been totally hellish with me and will leave you waiting for weeks! I applied for mine at 26 weeks and im now 39 and still have not received a penny. So dont be soft like i was, harrass them until they sort it out!

both of the other answers are correct - call them a nad check, but it is likely to be at the start of next week and will be backdated to the date of claim. Usually you get your money a couple of days after the letter advising you of entitlement, call them to check your bank details have been recorded correctly

Soon, you are due  money back to 14/07/08, you are paid two weeks in arrears, so you will get a pyment into your bank on Monday
