  1. As everyone else has said- it varies with the person & family. So does the length of them. My Grandmother started at 16 & her's were always 7 to 8 days long. My mother started at 14 but her's were only 4 days long. I didn't start until I was 16 & mine last 4 days but my younger sister started at 14 & hers are 7 to 8 days long. (Personally I couldn't stand it if mine took that long!) As far as discharge- there are other reasons why a woman's body does that. It helps lubricate as well as flush toxins & bacteria from your uterine walls. I don't think the weight factor holds true however- I weighed 90 lbs when I started & my sister was about 85 lbs. But I know you DO gain a couple of lbs. prior to starting & lose them after.

  2. I was 14 and 8 months until I got my period. Ask your Mom when she got her period, then if you have any older sisters. Since my Mom got it when she was 12, then my other sisters were 13. I'm the youngest, so the younger you are, the later you'll get your period. Also, you should be around 100 lbs is when the average girl gets her period. I was always small for my age. You don't want it to start, trust me ha ha!

    Hope I helped [:

{e} Also, right before I got my period, I started to gain a couple pounds...

  3. you can't predict exactly when it will start. it just kind of happens

it could be next week, or next year

    who knows

  4. I wanted to start too when I was 12....soooo badly! I had all the signs and everything. But, I didn't get it for 8 months LATER. It seemed like an eternity. Once I got it, I was pissed. Its such a bummer! I wish it would go away! Sure, i was excited for 15 minutes, then I wanted nothing to do with it. You probably have up to a whole year, but your 12 so it could be tomorrow for all you know! Thats the exciting part about it! I liked not knowing when it was going to come.

    Good Luck!

And have a happy Period :)

  5. I have no idea why you are such a big hurry, once you get it you wish you hadn't.

But to answer your question--it is already in the gene pool, hormones which are natural chemicals are in your body which will bring on puberty. You will notice you are growing taller, filling out in the waist-getting some hips. You will notice your breast will develop. You will notice hair under your arms, on your legs and in the pubic area. You will begin with a brown looking discharge which may be monthly or not, this will continue until red blood will start, this also will depend on the hormonal balance with=in your body. You can always ask your Mom when she began her period, if you have older sisters, ask them. I started at 10 but my sisters did not start until they were almost 13. so it all depends, every one is different.

I hope I have answered your question, Good Luck to you

  6. no one can tell you. no one on here can tell you, a doctor cant tell you. no one knows when you will start your period.

..its nothing to loook forward to anyway. trust me.
